SUPPORT HELPING HAND
Every Step Counts, Every Mile Matters
Are you up for a new adventure that will enrich body and
mind, while also being for a good cause?
Then book now for a walking tour with Hannes Noëth that
stretches over 80 km through the Klein Karoo's natural beauty.
This unique
pilgrimage takes you through the heart of the Klein Karoo. Hannes Noëth, executive director of Solidarity Helping Hand,
will lead the tour. The purpose of the event is not only to provide a
mental and physical challenge, but also to raise money for Solidarity Helping
Hand's projects in the Western Cape.
We set out from Oudtshoorn and hike along back roads past
farms in beautiful scenery. The event is offered over eight days, and the daily
walking distances vary between 10km and 23 km. We visit, among others, the
Roman Catholic Church's visual narrative of the Way of the Cross, a Cathedral,
a Synagogue and the oldest sandstone church building in Oudtshoorn.
Our trail takes us alongside olive groves and we learn about the production of olive oil at a renowned olive estate. One rest day on a farm is included. You
can swim in the mountain pools , relax or go for a walk on the short routes on the
farm. A Biblical Garden provides time for reflection, while the scenery and the
unique fynbos in the area are constantly enchanting.
We believe that this experience, in the company of Hannes
Noëth, will be enriching and that you will feel inspired to continue your life in a meaningful way. The next event will be from the 25th April to the 2nd May 2026.
